This week, I was struggling to find articles and profiles I found interesting to follow.

I have hit a bit of a mental block, especially when it came to writing the Scicomm article. However, I followed Professor Haas' advice on where to find articles and profiles. I have found some that I like and will share.

I followed the WildlifeScienceCentr (@NewsFromWSC), Fox Guardians (@foxguardiansuk) and UBC Animal Behavior & Cognition Lab (@ubcABClab)

I found the first account by looking at what my classmates were following. I followed WildlifeScienceCentr because I like learning about all different animals - not just foxes. Even though I will be writing about foxes in my Scicomm article, I wanted to follow other types of profiles as well.

Similarly, the UBC Animal Behavior & Cognition Lab studies many different animals. This lab has many scientists working there so I plan to check out their Twitter profiles as well.

I found Fox Guardians by looking up "fox research Twitter accounts" in Google. This profile came up, and I liked the posts. I loved looking at the videos of foxes.

The three hashtags I used to search Twitter were #fox, #foxbrain, and #wildfox. I found that #wildfox was the most useful hashtag because it came up with the most posts. I honestly fox that most of the fox research-related posts did not include hashtags, so I didn't find this method useful. Plus, whenever I tried using the word fox alone (without the word "animal" or "wildlife" next to it), all of the posts were about FOX news. What an unfortunate name.

I believe that my best written Tweet this week is the one about the study on dolphins. While this tweet is not about foxes, I felt it was the best out of the three. I liked the Tweet because it explained the study well, and the "so-what"-part of the article is clearly stated.

I commented on Ava Taylor's blog post on 4/30 (link) that I loved how organized and detailed her blog post was. She did an amazing job, and I loved the many photos she included in her post!
